SALSIBURY FARMS is a privately owned facility located in Lakeside, Ca. We offer several excellent programs including a fantastic Riding Academy with lesson for riders of all ages and levels, we offer a comprehensive Horse Training program that focuses on the relationship and attaining goals for both horse and rider, we also offer Equine Assisted Psychotherapy with Dr. Amy Oleson.
Our Approach
Our approach to learning to ride and work with horses is structured and based in classical horsemanship. Riders work to develop their own skills (including balance, confidence, an independent seat, etc) as well as learn the theories and concepts that will guide them in having successful and mutually rewarding relationships with the horses.
How Horses Help Humans
How Horses Help Humans horses are herd and flight animals They survive by vigilantly scanning and responding to the environment. When humans work with horses either as recreation or self- development, the horses attend and respond to humans with the same accuracy and attention to detail they do in the wild in order to survive. The horse’s ability to respond and reflect a human’s actions provides valuable and irrefutable information about oneself. Horses have something to teach you about yourself, either as a rider or for personal development, when you learn to listen you have an opportunity to grow.
